Slough Town have no points from seven league games. Alan Julian has gone, and a three-man team takes the side to AFC Totton on Saturday 12 September.
Slough Town have parted company with their men’s first team manager, Alan Julian. The club had lost all seven of its opening National League South matches.
The club announced the decision on Sunday 6 September, the day after a 2-1 home defeat by Braintree Town. Assistant manager Donovan Chislett left at the same time. Both departures took immediate effect, according to the club’s statement.
Julian only arrived at Arbour Park in the summer. In June the club was already publishing interviews with him about getting his new squad together.
Who is in charge now
The club says three coaches will lead the first team “for the foreseeable future”:
- Johnny Goddard
- Ryan Case
- Henry Ochieng
Their first game in charge was away at Salisbury on Tuesday 8 September. Slough lost 5-1, according to the club’s fixtures and results page. Goddard gave the club’s post-match interview.
As of Friday 11 September, the club’s news page listed no permanent appointment.
Chief executive Ashley Smith paid tribute to both men in the club statement. “I am genuinely gutted that things haven’t worked out the way we all hoped,” he said. “Alan and Don leave with our sincere respect and gratitude.”
Seven league games, no points
Every league match so far has ended in defeat. The club’s own results page records:
| Date | Opponent | Venue | Score (Slough first) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sat 15 Aug | Dover Athletic | Away | Lost 3-5 |
| Tue 18 Aug | Farnham Town | Home | Lost 0-1 |
| Sat 22 Aug | Hampton & Richmond Borough | Away | Lost 3-5 |
| Sat 29 Aug | Folkestone Invicta | Home | Lost 0-2 |
| Mon 31 Aug | Dagenham & Redbridge | Away | Lost 0-1 |
| Sat 5 Sep | Braintree Town | Home | Lost 1-2 |
| Tue 8 Sep | Salisbury | Away | Lost 1-5 |
That is eight goals scored and 21 conceded. The three home games produced a single Slough goal.
The team has shown it can score away from home, with three goals at both Dover and Hampton. The problem has been at the other end: 16 goals conceded in four away games.
There is also an extra home game to come. The season’s opening match, at home to Ebbsfleet United, was postponed by the National League. It has now been rearranged for Tuesday 29 September.
A new signing in the same week
The club signed 21-year-old attacker Kyrie Pierre on Tuesday 8 September. He joins from Brentford B, having come through the ranks at Aston Villa. The club says he made 12 Premier League 2 appearances for Villa’s under-21 side in 2024/25.
