The death of a man in his 40s at The Foyer, Stoke Road, on 24 September is now treated as murder. Two Slough men, 45 and 53, are held in custody.
Thames Valley Police has launched a murder investigation into the death of a man in Slough. He was found dead at The Foyer, in Stoke Road, on 24 September. He was in his 40s.
A post-mortem examination was carried out on Tuesday 6 October. The death is now being treated as murder. The force announced this in a statement published at 4.51pm on Wednesday 7 October.
What the police have said
The force’s Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation. Its statement sets out:
- police were called to The Foyer, Stoke Road, on 24 September, where the man was found dead
- the post-mortem on 6 October led to the death being treated as murder
- two men, aged 45 and 53, both from Slough, have been arrested on suspicion of murder
- both remain in police custody
- the man’s next of kin have been told and are being supported by specially trained officers
The force has not named the man who died or the two men arrested. Neither have we. An arrest on suspicion is not a charge.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Stuart May said: “I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the victim, and I would ask that their privacy is respected during this extremely difficult time.”
He added: “I understand that incidents such as this will cause concern within the local community. We are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish exactly what has happened, and there will continue to be an increased police presence in the area while our enquiries remain ongoing.”
Is there a risk to the public?
The force says no. “At this stage, we do not believe there is any wider risk to the public,” DCI May said.
You may see more officers around Stoke Road for now. The force says that increased presence will continue while its enquiries go on.
